Even though I am a fragrance enthusiast and own way too many, I have not come across one that smells like sunflowers. That's why Avon's latest perfume release perked my interest, and today I am here to review Incandessence Enjoy.
Avon Incandessence Enjoy EDP |
The idea of a sunflower smelling fragrance was so intriguing to me that after reading about the Avon one, I hit up Google to see if I missed other sunflower perfumes. Even the search results didn't return anything well-known in this fragrance group, and I can only recall one by Bath & Body Works which was released a couple of weeks ago, way after Incandessence Enjoy.
When it comes to floral perfumes, I am always on a lookout for more unique scents because the most common group - the white florals - give me headache and nausea. You have to know that Avon is notorious for white floral fragrances too, they have a million that smell alike, but every once in a while they release a special, amazing fragrance that is not a white floral. Reading about the newest addition to the classic Incandessence family, I instanty thought it might be such a scent.
What Avon says about Incandessence Enjoy:
"Discover a new, radiant perfume from your beloved Incandessence collection! Fill each day with joy thanks to the new fragrance - INCANDESSENCE ENJOY with a unique sunflower accord hidden in the heart of the fragrance. This amazing ingredient will instantly put you in a great mood! Thanks to the citrusy head notes and sunny heart intensity, this graceful fragrance will reveal to you what the essence of true joy is."
My experience:
Sunflower can be risky because of its hay-like, dry smell. Thankfully, Avon balanced it out with mandarin, and you can indeed smell both the sunflower and mandarin in unison upon spraying it. The creamy citrus calms down the summery floral, and the musk only comes into play towards the drydown, since it is a base note. Incandessence Enjoy is definitely one of the more unique fragrances by Avon, and I am really happy that I own it. If you are looking for eccentric, well-balanced florals, or if you dislike white florals, I recommend this ball of fragrance. It is definitely not for everyone, and I would advise you not to blindbuy it. Try a tester before purchasing, unless you know that you like sunflower scents.
Avon Incandessence Enjoy EDP details:
Composition: citrus-floral-woody
Category: warm, radiant
Notes: mandarin, sunflower accord, musk
Sillage: moderate
Longevity: moderate, 4 hours on skin and more than a day on clothes
Season: summer, late spring, early autumn
Time of day: during the day
Comparison:
I own 2 other Incandessence perfumes, the original one and Lotus. The OG Incandessence is stronger both in sillage and longevity, while the Lotus one is weaker in those aspects, Incandessence Enjoy falls right in the middle. All 3 of them are gorgeous, NON-white florals.
Avon Incandessence Enjoy box packaging |
Packaging:
The spherical 50 ml bottle comes in a cardboard box, I snapped photos of the packaging and ingredients too. There is the cruelty-free bunny sign on the bottom of the box, I only noticed it now so no photo of it.
You can spray it by pushing a button on top, there is no removable lid with this newer packaging. It is simple and quick to use, you don't need to fumble with a cap. I must say though, I prefer the look of the old packaging shown here, where the cap popped off all the way.
Full price: 4199 HUF (~ 12 EUR / 14 USD)

I am so glad I like the new fragrance, I haven't smelled a single tester before getting it. The last PR sample product I reviewed on the blog I received back in 2017, so I thought I'd ask Avon if I could review this guy, since I am still receiving PR emails. They have the most flexible and neat PR system because you have to contact them if you'd like to review something, so the chance for a bad product match is small. Thank you Avon Hungary!
So what do you think of my perfume review? I would love to introduce more and more fragrance posts on the blog, especially that I've been collecting perfumes for way longer than makeup. I easily own 50 of them now. So far, I only have one standalone fragrance review here, and a handful of them in monthly favourite posts, so I'm excited for more reviews, especially that I went on a fragrance shopping spree after my surgery in July. Oh well, I've been on a no buy / low buy for the last 2 years.
What kind of perfumes do you like?
Are you interested in unique ones, or are you a fan of safer scents?
