I was going to start this post by justifying why I made a Boots order at the start of the week but let's be honest, I just fancied trying out a few new products! I'm definitely still going to keep using the 'it's for the blog' excuse though. There's been a few new products out recently that I've been wanting to get my hands on and I've had a little list tucked away of products that other bloggers have recommended so those two combined ended up with me having a lovely little Boots order arrive this week.
If you've followed my blog for a while then you'll know that I've always been a fan of light and moisturising lip products, mainly the crayon style ones that have been popping up over the past few years. I hadn't seen much about them since the trend came and went until I spotted the L'Oreal Infallible Sexy Balm's on the Boots website. Since there was a 3 for 2 offer on I picked out 3 shades to try (Such A Babe, Never Stop and As If!), what I didn't realise at the time is that some of the balm's have a sheer finish and other's are labelled as being bold. I'm glad I managed to pick up a variety of the two finishes and I can't wait to give these a go and review them!
Whenever I go into Boots or I'm browsing online I rarely look at the skincare products, I definitely neglect my skin a lot and never have really stuck to a skincare routine religiously so I thought for once I'd have a little look through. I came across the Boots Botanics range and remembered that I'd seen someone talk about their All Bright range so I decided to try a few things from there. I've really wanted to incorporate a serum into my skincare routine for a little while now so the Radiance Concentrate Serum seemed like the perfect thing to try. I also needed a new eye cream so thought I'd get one from the same range, the Refreshing Eye Roll-On. I usually stick to creams or serums so I'm looking forward to seeing how I get on with something a bit different!
If you read my recent post about Natural Collection you'll know that I've really been enjoying revisiting the brand recently since it was the first makeup brand I ever used. This meant when I heard that they were bringing out new products for the first time in a while I was set on trying out a few things, what caught my eye the most though were the Highlighter Sticks. They are still priced at £1.99 and there are 3 shades available but I just picked up two, Coral Glow and Rose Glow. I've really been into highlighting recently so I'm looking forward to seeing what Natural Collection's offering will be like!
Finally I had to pick up something from NYX, it would seem that I just can't go on the Boots website anymore without browsing through their products. This product, the Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm, was actually something I saw Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup talk about and wear and it looked great on her so I thought I'd give it a go. I've only quickly applied it once and wasn't too convinced that the shade totally suits me but I think I'll have a better idea when I have a full face of makeup on. Either way it's reminded me of how much I love the soft matte lip cream's so I'll definitely be getting some more shades.
Have you bought anything new from Boots recently or is there anything you have your eye on?
