Review: L'Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper

I was looking for a way to make my eyebrows look thicker and more voluminous without drawing them in.

I had grown them out naturally completely so I wouldn't have to use a pencil anymore, but I still wanted to get bigger eyebrows. I totally love the look of Brooke Shields or Denise Richards eyebrows.

At the drugstore I tested this plumping eyebrow gel from L'Oreal called the Brow Stylist Plumper.

With my light brown hair I want for the blonde shade because brown eyebrow products are usually too light for me.

I don't usually like any brow product, but this one had a nice soft spooly brush that was destined to really brush up my eyebrow hair and give them that little extra oomph without looking obvious.

The spooly brush has the perfect size to brush up my eyebrows quickly and I love how the slightly stiff hairs get a grip on my eyebrow hair, almost like a mascara wand.

The product inside was a blonde color, but it seemed to have some shimmer in it, or a slight metallic finish. Not bad, because natural hair looks a little shiney too, and the product probably dries, so it will look matter once dried on my eyebrows. So it did.

The color matches light blonde and brown hair well, and at the drugstore, after brushing my eyebrows up, I instantly felt like a Denise Richards. I felt like I had big, natural looking eyebrows. Nothing drawn on, just filled in gaps, perfectly groomup hair and a thick volume.

But my eyebrows do feel stiff. And in different lighting I can see the product lying on top of my eyebrow hairs, sort of the same way as when you draw in your eyebrows too much top down. Like, you can see a layer where there is no hair at the top of the eyebrow.

So in general I might be better off getting me some eyebrow powder and a clear eyebrow gel, because the shiney blonde stuff is clearly noticable in some lighting. All in all it is an ok product if you already have some pretty good brows that you just want to give a quick brush with some fixation, but don't expect great, soft looking eyebrows, because the product is noticable in some lighting.

I always recommend to take a good dslr camera and point it at yourself in daylight to take a direct picture of yourself with great colors so you can see if your beauty products really suit you. I used a brow pencil in a blonde shade for months before I realised it looked orange on me. That's what dark winter months and smarthpones do, you know.

Best is still to let your eyebrows grow naturally <3
