Hip Hop's biggest night just got even bigger.

The 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards premiered Tuesday, Oct. 27—and what a night it was. Megan Thee Stallion took home the most trophies with three wins. In addition to sweeping the Hustler of the Year and Hip Hop Artist of the Year categories, the "Hot Girl Summer" star received the Best Collaboration honor for her "Savage" remix with Beyoncé.

Speaking of Queen Bey, she followed closely behind in the trophy tally with two wins. In addition to sharing the Best Collaboration award, the singer obtained the Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse prize. Roddy Ricch also had two big wins, taking the titles in the Song of the Year and Album of the Year categories.

Of course, there was a star-studded list of performers, too. Cordae, Lil Baby, 42 Dugg, City Girls, Mulatto, Gucci Mane, Big Sean, Jhene Aiko, Ty Dolla $ign, Brandy, H.E.R., Teyana Taylor, Erykah Badu, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne were just a few of the big names to take the stage. In addition, Quavo paid tribute to the late rapper Pop Smoke, who was also posthumously named Best New Hip Hop Artist.

Beyoncé's 10 Best Acting Roles, Ranked By IMDb | TheThings - TheThings

Posted: 22 Oct 2020 01:30 PM PDT

To be fair, Beyonce is a music icon, a singer and performer, not necessarily an actor. With that said, she has tried her hand at acting on a handful of occasions, making her one of the most hard-working women in entertainment.

Note, however, that the majority of her most popular acting gigs have been in music videos and other video shorts (Lemonade, anyone?) where she has flaunted her sex appeal, signature moves, gorgeous, flowing hair, and amazing singing voice while also telling a compelling story to the tune of her music.

She has, however, had a few acting roles. And while not all of them have been in top-notch films that were well-received by critics, at least five of them rank above a 6 out of 10, according to IMDB reviews.

10 Wow Wow Wubbzy: Wubb Idol (2009) – 5.0

Wow Wow Wubbzy Beyonce

The children's educational flash animated series is centered around Wubzzy, a yellow, rectangular-shaped creature who has a diverse group of friends, including a rabbit-like creature who likes to build things, a super-smart bear-like creature, and a flower-loving puppy-like creature.

In this voice role, Beyonce plays the secondary character of Shine, a light blue colored member of the Wubb Girlz. While Beyonce doesn't have a main role, she starred in the spin-off film Wubb Idol, which received a KidScreen Best TV Movie award.

9 Obsessed (2009) – 5.0

Beyonce Obsessed

In good company with Idris Elba and Ali Larter, Beyonce starred in this psychological thriller about Lisa (Larter), an office temp who has feelings for her boss Derek (Elba). Despite those feelings not being reciprocated, she continues to try and seduce him.

Beyonce plays Derek's wife Sharon who, upon learning about Lisa's obsession and actions, starts to suspect that the two are having an affair. Not surprisingly, the film was inspired by Fatal Attraction. And though the film wasn't very well-received, Beyonce's status as an entertainment icon helped its box office numbers.

8 Black Is King (2020) – 5.4

Beyonce Black is King

This musical film, designed as a companion to the 2019 album The Lion King: The Gift, was also a visual album. The story is about a young African prince who becomes exiled after the death of his father. Years pass and, now a grown man, the prince begins to reflect on his life and true identity.

Beyonce plays the prince's ancestor, one of three people who help him reclaim the throne. In addition to starring in the film, which features appearances from a number of other celebrities, Beyonce also co-wrote the story and directed the film.

7 The Fighting Temptations (2003) – 5.6

Beyonce The Fighting Temptations

Another music film, this one is a romantic comedy and stars Beyonce opposite Cuba Gooding Jr. as a man who returns to his hometown in hopes of reviving a church choir so he can enter a gospel competition. He comes across a beautiful lounge singer named Lilly (Beyonce) who is a perfect fit for the choir and, it seems, his personal life, too.

While the film itself received mixed reviews, Beyonce was praised for her performance, most notably her rendition of the steamy song "Fever."

6 The Pink Panther (2006) – 5.7

Beyonce The Pink Panther

In this 2006 comedy-mystery film and remake of the classic 1963 British film, Steve Martin stars as Inspector Jacques Clouseau, who must solve the murder of a famous football coach Yves Gluant (Jason Statham) and the theft of the Pink Panther diamond.

True to her talents as a singer, Beyonce stars as Xania, a famous pop star and former girlfriend of Gluant. Others in the cast include Kevin Kline, Emily Mortimer, Kristin Chenoweth, and Clive Owen.

5 Austin Powers In Goldmember (2002) – 6.2

Beyonce joined an exclusive group of women who have played the love interest in Austin Powers films, which serve as loose parodies of James Bond films. The role represented Knowles' theatrical film debut.

She played the fierce and beautiful Foxxy Cleopatra, who becomes Austin's sidekick and rival of Goldmember, the Dutch supervillain working with Dr. Evil and the main antagonist of the film.

4 Dreamgirls (2006) – 6.5

Beyonce Dreamgirls

Beyonce is Deena Jones, a character based on Diana Ross, a shy woman who becomes the lead singer of the Dreams once her talent is discovered. She is at odds with Effie (Jennifer Hudson) in the film. She marries Curtis Taylor, Jr., played by Jamie Foxx and based on Motown founder Berry Gordy, Jr., and gets a lead role in the group.

Beyonce received a Golden Globe for her role while Hudson took home both the Globe and an Academy Award. While the film doesn't exactly have an amazing rating on IMDb, it's much better received on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.

3 Epic (2013) – 6.7

Beyonce Epic

Another computer-animated film, in this action-adventure, which is loosely based on the 1996 children's book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs by William Joyce, a 17-year-old girl moves in with her father, an eccentric scientist, who is determined to find tiny humanoid soldiers called Leafmen.

Beyonce voices Queen Tara, a queen of the forest who has Mother Nature-like powers. She is also the childhood love of Colin Farrell's character Ronin, leader of the Leafmen. Other actors who voice characters in this film include Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Christoph Waltz, Aziz Ansari, Pitbull, Steven Tyler, Jason Sudeikis, and more.

2 The Lion King (2019) – 6.9

Beyonce The Lion King

In this 2019 photorealistic computer-animated remake of the Disney classic, Beyonce joins a star-studded cast of voice actors, including Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Oliver, and others.

She provides the voice of Nala, Simba's childhood best friend and eventually, love interest. While she isn't seen on camera in this role, she got to use not only her talents as an actor but also her knowledge as a parent and beautiful singing voice.

1 Cadillac Records (2008) – 7.0

Beyonce Cadillac Records

Interestingly, this 2008 American biographical drama is Beyonce's top-rated film role. It explores the music scene in the early 1940s through to the late '60s, with a focus on Leonard Chess, a record company executive from Chicago, and some of the musicians who recorded for his label.

Beyonce had huge shoes to fill, starring as the great Etta James. Adrien Brody starred as Chess, and Cedric the Entertainer, Mos Def, Columbus Short, Jeffrey Wright, and Eamonn Walker also had starring roles. Even better than the rating for this film: Beyonce reportedly donated the money she made from it to help women in Brooklyn trying to recover from drug and alcohol addiction.
