In that precious package was this:
A pair of stunning socks knit from the wool of Rechel, one of my first two Shetlands! I had sent Adrienne some of Rechel's roving as a gift. She used it to spin her very first sock yarn (something I have yet to do), and then knit (with mind-bogglingly-tiny needles) a pair of pure Shetland socks. I'm gobsmacked! As Beth (in the first link) says, knitters are "the people most likely to appreciate such a gift of time, materials, and love;" well, king-size my appreciation because I'm a spinner, too!Oh, and today I wore the brown homespun fingerless mitts Adrienne knitted for me last year.
Humbled by love at . . .
